I sprayed pre emergent and I still have weeds!

Hello friends it's Marvin Salcido here with Salcido Lawn, and I wanted to take a moment and talk with you about a question that I've had posed to me several times: you've sprayed pre-emergent but you still have weeds. Well, you know what, that is completely normal. What a pre-emergent does is keeps new weeds from being transplanted in and sprouting. So if a bird comes in and drops a seed, it's not going to allow it to germinate or if you have any weeds that are popping up currently, it's not going to allow those to re-germinate. If they get all the way to seed it's not going to allow them to re-germinate, so it kind of helps stop the cycle. So what you need to do if you have any weeds popping up right now, is you hit it with a post-emergent. If you're having a dollar weed, clover, or anything like that you need to hit that with a broadleaf post-emergent, or if you have like those grassy weeds that look like little bitty grains of wheat, you need hit that with a grassy weed post-emergent. So if you sprayed pre-emergent and you're having weeds pop up, that's completely normal. Anything that was already in the ground from last year is gonna pop up, so hit it with a good post-emergent, and that'll help take care of anything. What we do, anytime that we come out to your property to do an application, like when we're doing our fertilization rounds right now, we still spray for weeds when we come out because you're going to have weeds pop up and we want to make sure and help combat those as they pop up.
